Infants

Babies are very special to us at Legacy Academy. We offer a loving, caring environment where nurturing and physical affection are a part of every day. We place great emphasis on the uniqueness of each child. The nursery provides the opportunity for your baby to develop at his or her own pace in an atmosphere of security and love. The spacious, bright and cheerful environment is designed to be visually stimulating with pictures, mobiles, unbreakable mirrors, and colorful toys that have been carefully selected to help develop hand-eye coordination and promote fine motor development.

The program includes aural stimulation with music, songs, conversation, and toys that make clicking, spinning, and squeaking sounds. When weather permits, babies are brought outside to experience the sights and sounds of nature with the added health benefit of fresh air and sunshine. Our developmental curriculum for infants has varied monthly themes appropriate for babies, as well as a special daily activity entitled Brain Power. The learning environment created in our baby classrooms especially enhances the experiential curriculum for infants. The materials provided, balanced with nurturing interactions with caregivers, help babies develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills beginning to create those links that will be building blocks for their future.
