Kindergarten Program Overview*

At Legacy Academy our exclusive learning process leads each child on a journey of Life Long Learning. Our proven process, incorporating optimal teacher-student ratios will support each kindergarten scholar as they prepare for academic success.

A Legacy learner enrolled in our exclusive private academy will be motivated by our carefully designed environment creating energy, curiosity, and experiences reinforcing a passion for learning.

Through our process each learner will: • Awaken: We begin the journey by exposing each child to new ideas, concepts, tools and information as outlined in our developmental lessons, awakening brain cells.

• Bolster: As each child begins to realize and gain first-hand knowledge, we will introduce sound principles and functions related to each lesson to bolster their brain power

• Climb: As children become confident and excited they begin to explore their thoughts and inquire about each learning topic, allowing for growth and concrete learning.

• Define: Each child will begin to recognize the opportunity to reinforce what they have learned through critical thinking, discovery and self regulation opportunities.

• Encourage: Finally, moving toward meta-cognitive awareness, each child will become conscious of their thoughts, actions and decisions as they continue on their educational journey.

Inquiry based opportunities that will lead to discussion while encouraging natural curiosity about the world will give students grounding in principles and confidence in their ability to find answers. All learning content is brain considerate and will focus on objectives using language along with multi-sensory key experiences. Our small class size allows the teacher to become familiar with each child while helping children develop a deep understanding of concepts, learning to problem solve and make decisions. Experience is the architect of the brain, and the Kindergarten program, supported by the ideas and interests of the child will ensure success of every student. Opportunities to develop and encourage meta-cognitive thinking will support necessary skills for the student to articulate meaning, while taking an active part in their early learning journey.

Monthly themes and carefully chosen field trips will enhance children's community awareness while supporting the curriculum. Legacy Academy students will work throughout the year on mastering core subject areas in tandem with other key subjects which will strengthen skills as they prepare for first grade.

Formal assessments, meetings and opportunities for families to interact in classroom activities round out the Legacy Kindergarten Experience.

Please note that the Kindergarten program requires the students to wear a uniform, designed exclusively for Legacy Academy. Parents may choose from the following bottom clothing selections: khaki pants, skirt, capris or skorts. Uniform shirts are available for purchase directly ordered from our school.
