Spanish with Miss Inga - Every Monday morning Miss Inga comes and does her Spanish lessons with all of the children. Through songs and felt board stories the children are exposed to Spanish vocabulary. Ms. Inga does a wonderful job keeping the children engaged and interested as they learn a second language. The Spanish class is included in your child's tuition.
Creative Dance with TumbleWeeds - Also on Monday mornings the women from TumbleWeeds come and offer a dance class for the children who are over the age of two. Missy Naff has 25 yrs experience. Children will enjoy learning basic skills in ballet and creative movement with pre-school appropriate songs and lyrics. Correct dance terminology and technique build a strong fundamental background. Dance and gymnastics class will help with their gross motor skills
Music For Kids with Ms. Kay - Every Tuesday morning all of the children who are three and a half and older are able to participate in Music For Kids. Music For Kids is an educational and fun enrichment class that will start your child on a road to music enjoyment and better learning. This class carries out the Yamaha Music Education concepts of group learning, ear training and age appropriate activities for skill development in young children.
Art Appreciation & Expression with Ms. Katie - Every other Wednesday our very own Ms. Katie offers an art class that goes above and beyond the already great art activities the children are doing in their classrooms. She will be focusing on a different artist each month and exposing the children to their works of art. Then they will be doing an activity based on that artist and their method. During the second class they will be listening to whatever type of music that Ms. Ashley will be exposing them to in music class. They will then have the chance to express themselves through art while listening to different types of music.
Gymnastics with TumbleWeeds - Every Thursday the children who are over the age of two are able to enroll in a gymnastics class offered by the women from TumbleWeeds. Erica Moore has over 15 yrs experience in gymnastics instruction. Tumbleweeds is a creative approach to physical fitness, coordination, and positive self- esteem. Children are introduced to the basics in each discipline of gymnastics through positive reinforcement in a non- competitive environment. Instruction will focus on one or more of the following each week: tumbling, balance beam, junior swing bar, mini- trampoline, spring board, or junior vault.
Music with Ms. Ashley - Every Friday the director Ms. Ashley offers the children a chance to come and learn to enjoy and appreciate different types of music. The first class each month will be focused on music appreciation. The children will be exposed to music from around the world and it will correlate with our social studies (for example in March while we are studying the O'Reily family from Ireland we will listen to Irish music). The second class will focus on a variety of music and movement activities that will include dancing with props. The third and fourth class of the month the children will be learning songs to prepare a program for the parents.
