Susan Collins - Owner/Co-Director
Susan is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a double major in Economics and Political Science. Her career has spanned Management, Marketing, and Finance with Fortune 100 Companies to Legacy Academy for Children where she envisions creating the premier child learning center in Central Florida. She returned to Seminole Community College to study Early Childhood Education and obtained a CDA as well as a Director's Credential. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Association of Child Care Professionals, and the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce to keep up to date on learning activities to assist the children and to be an active member in the community.
Cheryl Mitchell - Director
Cheryl Mitchell is the Director for Legacy Academy Lake Mary. Cheryl has 23 years of experience in this role, directing centers in both Georgia and Florida. Cheryl's Director Credential combined with many years in early childhood and her experience as an LPN make her a tremendous asset to our team. Cheryl has opened many facilities from ground up and has led the accreditation process for both NAEYC and Apple. Cheryl is married and has 5 children and 5 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time at the beach and traveling both domestic and abroad.
Lezlee Oliver-Crumpler - Curriculum Coordinator
Lezlee has over eight years of experience as well as an AA degree from Seminole Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida. She believes that education has an important impact on young children for the advancement of their future. Lezlee joined us in 2007 as our Summer Camp counselor and later moved into the three year old classroom. Her passion for teaching and professional demeanor will allow her to make great strides in her new role. In her free time she enjoys spending time with my husband and son who is also part of our Legacy family. Lezlee truly believes that "When working with children, listen to them to understand, not just to respond."
Lauren Wynsma - Administrative Assistant
Lauren Wynsma is our Administrative Assistant. She is a Cum Laude graduate from Lake Mary High School and just completed her freshman year at Seminole Community College. She plans to obtain her degree in Early Childhood Education and was recently in our three year old program. Lauren danced for ten years and has assisted with 2 and 3 year old dance classes. Her high energy and enthusiasm make her a welcome addition to our front office team.
