Penny Godwin - Owner & Director
Penny graduated from Georgia Tech and spent 12 years designing software for Unisys and TBS before opening her Legacy Academy. She and her husband, Gary, live in Duluth and have four children. After working, car-pooling, and helping to write book reports, Penny likes to jog, lift weights, and play tennis.
Jaime Silverman - Assistant Director
Jaime has over 10 years of experience in early care and education and management experience. Jaime joined Legacy Academy in 2000 and during her nine years working hard ensuring that our program operates at a high level of excellence, she also finished her studies at Georgia Perimeter College earning her degree in Education. Jaime has a beautiful seven year old daughter and when she is not working she loves spending time with her newly extended family and shopping. For Jaime, Legacy really is a home away from home.
Claire Barton - Program Coordinator
Claire has over 10 years experience in classrooms as well as childhood development. She studied at Georgia Perimeter College, where she earned her Associate's Degree in Education. She then went on to study at the University of Georgia where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Her studies allowed her the opportunity to mentor foster children as well as become certified as a therapeutic foster parent. She has served as assistant and lead teacher in various age groups from Infants to State-funded Pre-k. Her experience in the classroom, as well as her studies in college, both aid in her diligent efforts to maintain excellence in our classrooms. Claire has been married for 3 years and has one daughter, with another on the way. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and scrapbooking.
Armina Pasic - Administrative Assistant
Armina has been part of our Legacy team for almost 9 years and has over 10 years of early child care experience. When Armina is not helping out in a classroom, filing papers, administering medicines, or answering the phones she is taking one of her kids to football or cheerleading practice or hanging with her husband. Armina is a dedicated stitch in our Legacy team!
