Penny Godwin - Owner & Co-Director
Penny graduated from Georgia Tech and spent 12 years designing software for Unisys and TBS before opening her Legacy Academy. She and her husband, Gary, live in Duluth and have four children. After working, car-pooling, and helping to write book reports, Penny likes to jog, lift weights, and play tennis.
Michelle Shepherd - Co-Director
Michelle has 5 years of early care and education experience in the classroom and in management. She joined our team in October 2000. She currently attends Georgia State University and is studying Math Education. Michelle considers herself a mother to cat Chloe. She spends most of her time studying, shopping and making people laugh.
Jaime Silverman - Assitant Director & Curriculum Coordinator
Jaime has over ten years of early care and education and management experience. She joined Legacy Academy seven years ago and recently completed her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. Jaime works hard with our teachers ensuring that our program operates at a high level of excellence. She has a beautiful five-year-old daughter and in her free time she enjoys watching movies, scrapbooking and shopping. For Jaime, Legacy really is a home away from home.
