Lara and Jim Knape - Owners
Lara and Jim became involved with Legacy Academy after researching and evaluating different preschool options for their own children. They were quickly won over by Legacy's commitment to providing quality educational programming and achieving the highest standards in the industry, specifically NAEYC accreditation. They felt this opportunity would be an excellent fit with their interests in child development, as well as their professional experience and qualifications, and Lara's pediatric nursing background.
Lara has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with over 12 years experience in clinical research, where she specialized in Pediatric clinical trials. In her previous career as Director of Clinical Operations for a large international pharmaceutical company, she ran a 250 bed clinical research facility with over 90 medical staff and conducted over 100 clinical studies per year in a variety of therapeutic indications.
Jim is an entrepreneur with a strong corporate background. He has worked over 15 years in various senior management positions in large and small technology companies. He holds Electrical Engineering and MBA degrees, and is certified as a Professional Engineer.
Lara and Jim are hands-on owners who are on site everyday to ensure that they consistently exceed parents' expectations and provide the best possible preschool experience for all children who attend. Their goal as owners is to continue to be the highest quality preschool available.
