The Satellite Management Team

Dawn Skinner - Director

Dawn is a true Georgia native. She was born in Atlanta and has lived in the Lawrenceville area for over 15 years. She has over 12 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. During that time she spent 9 years as a classroom teacher and has worked with different age groups from 2 years old to school age children.

In June 2004, Dawn proudly joined the Legacy Academy family and helped to open the Legacy Academy Suwanee location as their Lead Senior Toddler teacher. After working there for a little over 2 years, she was offered a management position at the Satellite location. In October 2003, she helped to set up and open Legacy Academy Satellite as the Assistant Director and then moved into the Director's position in August of 2004.

Dawn takes great pride in the fact that her center was the first Legacy to offer a full time bilingual program to the children. The Satellite location has an amazing multi cultural melting pot, and the families, children and staff here love it. She firmly believes in Legacy Academy's mission statement and feels that the quality of early care and education offered at every Legacy is second to none. Working with young children and helping to provide a safe, nurturing and educationally stimulating environment for them is a privilege that she takes very seriously. In her spare time she enjoys painting, cooking, decorating her home and garden and most of all she enjoys spending time with her three children.

Isalice Martinez - Assistant Director & Curriculum Coordinator

Isa loves children and enjoys being an important part in the development of the children at Legacy Academy. She moved to Georgia in 2005, with her husband and two children. In her spare time Isa loves cooking, home decorating, working out at the gym, playing ALTA team tennis, and spending quality time with her family.

Nayree Torrealba - Center Support

Born in Venezuela, Nayree holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Informatics Engineering. She began working at Legacy when they opened in October of 2003. Working with children has been one of the most beautiful experiences in her professional life. Watching the growth and development of the children along with her own children has been an irreplaceable experience.

Arely has 20 years of experience in early childhood education. She and her husband Hector moved to Georgia in 2000. She worked at the Atlanta International School for two years and now has developed a Spanish program to run parallel with the Legacy Framework for Their Future TM curriculum.

Kari Lemoine - Front Desk Assistant

Kari has over five years experience working in early care and education. She joined the Legacy Academy family in August 2004, as a teacher in the Senior Toddler class and then worked as an assistant teacher in our Georgia Pre-K class during the 2005-2006 school year. Now she is a Front Desk Assistant. Kari is currently working on getting her Bachelors degree in Art Education. She is looking forward to becoming an Elementary Art teacher in the near future.

Kari grew up in eastern Pennsylvania and moved to Georgia in July 2004, with her husband. Her work with young children is truly rewarding, and she is amazed to see how the children at Legacy Academy Satellite have grown and developed new skills.
